The flowershop I worked at for 3 years was sold and I was one of the lucky TWO people (not even kidding you) who was offered a job with the new flowershop.
It has been an interesting adventure since then.
I sitll LOVE being a florist.
The flowers still smell wonderful and the arrangements are still beautiful.
The biggest change is the people I am now working with. Not just that I get to meet all new people, but the personalities of the people I now work with are so unique!
My favorite co-worker (so far) is Mindy. I cannot figure her out, she is full of surpirses and she keeps me laughing. She loves nature and the outdoors - so in the warm months she is a landscaper. She knows all about every plant you can imagine! She has even turned her home into a green house this winter to keep her citrus trees alive.
She loves learning about serial killers. I am a fan of the T.V. show Crimial Minds but she reads books about serial killers. I have never learned so much about Ted Bundy and the Green River Killer as I have working with her.
She is such a hard worker! She never stops going - I am pretty sure she just keeps working til she falls into bed at night!
And the more I learn about her past (as she tells me) I am continually in Awe!
Just to give you an idea it involves;
- working as a maid at the Grand Canyon
- over coming alcoholism
- Being a grounds keeper at a private school in the middle of Colorado wilderness.
and much more
I enjoy working with Mindy and learning more about my strange new friend!
So, despite all the changes in my environment, I am thankful that I got to keep my job doing what I LOVE!
