We had a little scare this weekend and spent the better part of 2 days in the IMC Emergency Room.
After a regular day Friday I had some really sharp pain in my right abdomen. Jake realized right away that it was pretty bad and starting arranging for babysitters. Uncle Niel came to our rescue (along with many others!) and rushed right over to be with Makailey. Jake and I then went to the Emergency Room. We waiting for about an hour before we got into a room. They drew blood and started and IV with a pain killer in it. After about another hour I had an ultrasound and they found an ovarian cyst that had ruptured.
After consulting with the Dr. we decided to go home and rest and hope that was the source of the pain. I also had a reaction to the pain killer they had given me and developed a HUGE headache on top of the pain in my side. Niel had taken Makailey over to Paul and Tawni's home so he could go to work. We were afraid we might be at the hospital over night and arranged for my grandma to watch Makailey over night and the next day for us. Paul drove Makailey out to Grandma's home and she thankfully slept really well for her that night.
We rested up and went to visit Makailey and Grandma Saturday morning. I still continued to have pain saturday higher up in my abdomen and may the choice to return to the E.R. They drew more blood and ran some tests and found that when the cyst ruptured the fluid had irritated my intestines and was causing me pain there as well.
I am so thankful for the great support system we have here and for all those (near and far) who had our family in their prayers this weekend.
I am so thankful for everyone who cared for Makailey and made her feel safe and loved when we couldn't be there with her.
I am also so thankful for the great medical care I received this weekend. I am thankful I did not need surgery or a longer hospital stay and I am the most thankful for my sweet husband who never left my side.
We are all home together now and feeling better each day!
