I am thankful for a Sense of Humor
It has been, well, one of THOSE days. I am so thankful for a sense of Humor or I would have ended up on the couch saying "Buh, Buh, Buh" Like Goldie Hawn in the MovieOver Board. (if you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it!) I also beleive the adage that states "things happen in 3's." It started with a rough night and very little sleep thanks to sweet Makailey. When she decided it was time to start the day at 6:30 A.M. I went to pick her up from her bed, only to find she had pooped all over. That is the #1 today. So Makailey got a bath and the bed got a thorough cleaning. The afternoon was business as usual. Thankfully it went pretty smooth. In the evening we ran to the store for some cheep baby bottles. We super glue the plug thing to the top part with the nipple in it and use them as binkies (the only binkis Makailey will take now...). I had glued 3 bottle tops and left them to dry. Makailey saw and wanted one, i figured they had dried long enough. I even tested it with my finger and It felt dry, So I gave it to her. She rolled around on the floor in her diaper sucking on that binki. I sat down on the carpet with her and worked on our primary lesson for Sunday. Suddenly I noticed that I could hear her sucking air and looked over to find her sucking the nipple but there was no plug thing in it! It had fallen out and was Suck to her bare chest! This makes #2. We were able to get the plug off of her and tried rubbing the glue off with nail polish remover, but she still has a ring of dry super glue on her skin. I couldn't help but laugh as I called my Mom for any tricks to get super glue off of skin. Then not even 10 min. later Jake handcuffed himself with both cuffs on the same wrist. Usually this would not be an issue, however, I had just bought him some hinged handcuffs for our anniversary (for WORK!!!) This means that the handcuffs are limited in how far they can seperate and can't twsit at all. Ah, we have reached #3. We lotioned up Jake's wrist really good, had to cut the handcuff key in half and then I spent 5 Min. fitting the key into the hole and turning it with pliers. I was laughing the whole time!
I am so thankful for a sense of humor that got me through today! I am thankful for my Sweet little family who create these moments to teach me patients. I am also very thankful I did not end up like Goldie Hawn's character, in a coma on the couch saying "buh, buh, buh...", however close I may have felt to it!
